What's Black and White and Fixes Everything?

What is black and white and fixes everything? Duct tape of course. There are so many styles out there that fit my color scheme. This week's project was altering clipboards. There are so many inspirations out there, but mine was truly inspired by a altered clipboard I received several years ago as a gift. I have been gifting clipboards to my students since. Part of the clipboards were done in duct tape, while others use contact paper? Can you tell which were duct tape?
Love the zebra, check, and black lace duct tape!

I found cheap clipboards at Target and decided I could not resist adding to my collection. I like the slim clip design. I didn't like the bright colors. A little black spray paint, some scrapbook paper, and Mod Podge did wonders. What do you think? They will look great with my toolbox from last week!

If you haven't linked up with Tara's Made It Mondays, what are you waiting for? I know there must be something you can show off!

Made It My Way

I have been busy trying to close up my room. I decided to purge while I packed. I have very little besides my classroom library to unpack in August. I also took some time to make improvements on some things for my room. I am sharing one here, and linking up with Tara on her Make It Mondays linky party.

My toolbox, purchased at Lowe's and improved in my room, is a Pinterest inspired project from Rebecca Rojas at Create, Teach, Share. I improved the color to basic black. The drawer inserts are scrapbook papers with Mod Podge to allow them to be wiped clean. Mod Podge coats the paper, and allow it to be peeled out to add labels, or to swap labels. Another layer on Mod Podge holds the insert beautifully!

I have another project I'll share next week that builds on my black and white color scheme.

The Future and Currently

Thursday was our last day. I spent all day Friday working on our language arts requisition for next year. When we proposed the budget, I was going to be teaching all of the reading. Things have changed, or have they?? We aren't sure, but at least I think I will be teaching fifth grade  language arts (reading to my class and another) and math to my homeroom. I also think I am doing inclusion. With the ever-changing state of education in Michigan, we may have some retirements that are not public knowledge just yet. Me? I am not going anywhere any time soon. Love my job, hate the drama this time of year brings.

I am sooo late in linking up for Farley's Currently June.
I would love a visit to Florida. We didn't go for the usual Christmas trip. Sending my youngest to the Sunshine State on a vacation with a friend. Wish I was going along for the ride. At this point, the only trips I will be taking are countless trips to the pool in the backyard. Got to get that room packed up first! Hope all of you that are on vacation are enjoying every moment.
